Fox Television Stations Names Robert Lydick SVP of Engineering, Operations and Technology

Fox Television Stations has appointed Robert Lydick as its new Senior Vice President of Engineering, Operations and Technology. Lydick will step into the role following the retirement of Tim Joyce, who left the company at the end of June after a 27-year tenure with Fox.

In his new position, Lydick will oversee all technical operations across the company's 29 owned-and-operated stations. His responsibilities will include managing broadcast engineering, studio operations, and the integration of new technologies. He will also be tasked with maintaining the stations' transmission infrastructure and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Lydick comes to the role with extensive experience in broadcast engineering and station management. He most recently served as Vice President of Engineering for Fox's owned stations in the Midwest region. Before that, he held engineering leadership roles at several major market stations, giving him a deep understanding of both the technical and operational sides of local television.

The appointment comes at a time when broadcasters are navigating a shift toward IP-based workflows and next-generation transmission standards. Lydick's background in modernizing station infrastructure is expected to be a key asset as Fox continues to upgrade its technical capabilities.

Joyce, who spent nearly three decades with Fox, was credited with helping to build and maintain the company's robust technical backbone across its station group. His retirement marks the end of a long chapter for the division.
