Kalogon has named former Meta and Magic Leap executive Marty Evans as its first chief technology officer. The company is bringing in a veteran hardware leader to guide its engineering and product development efforts as it expands its work in the smart seating and pressure relief space.
Evans spent time at Meta and Magic Leap, where he worked on advanced hardware programs. His background covers consumer electronics, wearable devices, and complex hardware systems that need to move from early prototypes to full production. That experience lines up with Kalogon's focus on building products that combine sensors, software, and physical design to help people sit more comfortably for long periods.
The chief technology officer role is new at the company, which signals that Kalogon is preparing to scale its technical operations. As the first person to hold the position, Evans will set the direction for engineering teams, oversee product architecture, and help shape how future devices are designed and manufactured.
Company leadership pointed to his track record of shipping hardware at major technology firms as a key reason for the hire. Kalogon has been developing seating technology aimed at users who deal with pressure sores, discomfort, and mobility challenges, including wheelchair users and people in demanding work environments.
Evans said he was drawn to the company's mission of solving real physical problems through engineering. He noted that the chance to build a technology organization from the ground up was a rare opportunity.
With the appointment, Kalogon gains an experienced hand as it pushes toward new products and broader adoption of its seating platform.
