Lotus Technology is working toward achieving earnings before interest and taxes profitability before the end of the decade, according to comments from its chief financial officer. The luxury electric vehicle maker, which trades publicly, laid out its electrification strategy and recent performance gains during a company presentation.
The CFO noted that Lotus was founded in 1948 and is looking to build on its long history in Formula 1 and sports cars as it moves deeper into the electric age. The company's first-half results showed improvement on both deliveries and margins, giving executives confidence in the path ahead.
The presentation focused on how the automaker plans to scale its lineup while keeping costs in check. Management pointed to rising vehicle volumes and better pricing as key drivers behind the improved financial picture. The company also discussed its broader product roadmap and the steps it is taking to compete in the premium electric segment.
Lotus faces the same pressures as other luxury EV makers, including soft demand in some markets and heavy investment requirements. Still, the CFO framed the profitability target as achievable, citing operational progress and a clearer plan for the years ahead. The company did not provide a specific timeline beyond the 2030 goal.
